By: Berry Cassondra

Brazil has generated 1,265,250 jobs with a formal contract in the first half of 2011, the third best result in history for the period, behind the record in 2010 and 2008. Since the State of Rio closed the period with 87,998 new jobs, a figure very close to a record recorded in the same period of 2010.

The data are in the Technical Note Tracking Fluminense formal labor market, produced by FIRJAN System, with data from the Ministry of Labor.
